The 232 quietly celebrates traditional Cobalt virtues. In subtle ways -- the perfect double-stitching of the upholstery or the clean functionality of the instrumentation -- the 232 makes the case for classic touches done extremely well. At the same time the 232 explores new territory, most obviously at the stern where the cockpit has been extended a full 18 inches, over the motor box, where the seat bottom matches up to the sunpad in a fun-drenched acreage. The 232 sets up high alright, but her profile remains sleek and fast. Nothing boxy here, with an aggressive rake to the flat European windshield. Nothing new in Cobalt's extravagant use of heavy stainless steel. And nothing stingy in this boat's apportionment of room, room, and more room for storage and seating.
