Cheoy Lee 46 Trawler te koop

The Cheoy Lee 1972 is a classic long-range cruising yacht built by the renowned Hong Kong shipyard. Designed for economical passage making and comfortable liveaboard cruising.

A 1972 model represents the early generation of these classic trawlers, featuring a heavy-displacement hull with a deep protective keel, wide side decks, and a practical double-deck layout. Powered typically by twin diesel engines, the yacht cruises efficiently at approximately 7–9 knots while offering exceptional fuel economy and long cruising range.

Below deck, the vessel commonly offers a three-cabin arrangement with a spacious aft owner’s stateroom, guest accommodations forward, a functional galley, and warm teak interior joinery throughout. The raised wheelhouse provides excellent visibility for extended cruising, while the flybridge offers additional helm control and outdoor seating.

Cheoy Lee trawlers from this era earned a reputation for seaworthiness and durability, making them popular among long-distance cruisers and liveaboard owners. Many examples remain actively cruising today thanks to their robust hand-laid fiberglass hulls and timeless design.

A 1972 Cheoy Lee 46 Trawler was considered very advanced for its era because it combined long-range cruising capability with liveaboard comfort and commercial-grade construction. Many owners still value them for offshore reliability, heavy build quality, and timeless teak interiors.
